Caterpillar to Unveil 4 Electric Machines at Bauma 2022

Cat's construction division is taking its first steps into the world of battery-powered machines with four prototypes to be unveiled at Bauma 2022.

Caterpillar has a big week planned in Munich for Bauma 2022. During the show, the company will be showing, for the first time in public, it's first battery-powered construction equipment models.

The models on display will be prototypes and include the:

301.9 electric mini excavator

320 electric medium excavator

950 GC electric medium wheel loader

906 electric compact wheel loader

Though there is no time frame or planned date for releasing these machines to the market, Cat is planning to bring the 301.9 mini hex and the 906 compact wheel loader to market first.

Cat says all four machines are powered by Cat-developed lithium-ion batteries, noting that the batteries in each machine feature a modular design and will be able to power other machines and be used in other industrial applications.
