A new Revizto report reveals a growing gap between digital investment and jobsite execution, contributing to ongoing coordination challenges across the construction industry.
The Bridging the Gap: 2026 Digital Design & Construction Report surveyed more than 2,000 global AECO professionals. 92% reported project cost overruns of at least 6%, despite continued investment in technologies such as building information modeling.
The report found that time constraints and workflow limitations remain key barriers to adoption, with 60% of teams still relying heavily on 2D drawings. At the same time, project complexity and coordination issues are increasing, with 41% of respondents citing poor communication as a leading cause of rework.
Findings suggest the industry’s challenge is less about access to technology and more about effective implementation. As project complexity grows, coordination across teams is becoming a critical factor in improving project outcomes.
