The Dana Rexroth R3 hydromechanical variable transmission (HVT) is a powersplit system for front end loaders, graders, forestry skidders, and other off-highway applications requiring up to 360 hp.
- Enables sensitive, precise vehicle positioning and stepless drive with no interrupted acceleration
- At low vehicle speeds, only the hydrostatic circuit of the HVT is used for quick acceleration and braking, precise low-speed maneuvering and reverse without the need of an additional clutch
- As vehicle speed increases the HVT employs the hydrostatic path and a power splitter beings to route engine power through a parallel path that uses the mechanical elements of the HVT to enable vehicle accelerating with no interruption in tractive force
