Mec Boom Lift 2

MEC has released the 66-RJ diesel telescopic boom lift, now shipping as part of its MAX Series lineup. The new machine is designed to support a wide range of jobsite applications, including heavy construction, industrial maintenance, and glazing, where both height and precise platform positioning are critical.

The defining feature of the 66-RJ is its 6-foot (1.9-meter) multi-directional jib, which offers 135 degrees of vertical articulation and 120 degrees of horizontal rotation. Combined with 180 degrees of platform rotation, the unit allows operators to reach around structural elements and obstacles without frequently repositioning the base machine. This design aims to increase productivity and reduce time lost to machine movement, particularly in congested or complex work environments.

The 66-RJ provides a 72-foot (22.2-meter) working height and a horizontal outreach of 56 feet (17 meters). It supports a dual lift capacity — 900 pounds (408 kilograms) in restricted zones and 600 pounds (272 kilograms) unrestricted — enabling operators to carry tools and materials while maintaining maneuverability at height.

The boom lift weighs 28,528 pounds (12,701 kilograms) and is equipped with multiple steering modes, including 2-wheel steer, 4-wheel “round” steer, and crab steering. These options help operators navigate tight spaces and align the machine accurately on the jobsite. A 4-wheel drive system with locking differentials, a 7-degree oscillating axle, and foam-filled rough-terrain tires supports traction on uneven surfaces and slopes up to 45%.

The control interface follows standard industry conventions to ensure ease of use for trained operators. The 66-RJ is intended to meet the demands of rental fleets and end users alike, offering a balance of reach, capacity, and adaptability for demanding work environments.
