Geoforce has launched the GT1c, a rugged cellular tracking device designed for construction, equipment rental and other asset-heavy industries.
The GT1c operates on AT&T’s cellular network and is built to track non-powered equipment and assets in harsh environments. The device features a fully enclosed design, reinforced housing and safety certification for use in hazardous locations.
According to Geoforce, the tracker offers up to 10 years of battery life and is designed to provide visibility into equipment location, movement and utilization while reducing maintenance needs. The device is intended to provide a lower-cost option for tracking more types of assets across jobsites and fleets.
During a pilot program with equipment rental company Black Diamond Equipment Rental, the GT1c expanded tracked inventory by 26% across smaller and mid-sized rental equipment, helping reduce operational delays and improve efficiency.
