Trackunit has launched the Spot S300, a battery-powered tracking device designed to provide visibility into unpowered construction and rental equipment.
The device can be used with assets such as trailers, containers, portable heaters, welders and message boards that typically fall outside traditional telematics systems.
The Spot S300 requires no wiring and uses LTE Cat 1 bis connectivity. It reports equipment location four times per day by default, with reporting frequency adjustable through Trackunit's software.
The device provides up to seven years of battery life and includes battery health monitoring. Its data can be viewed alongside powered equipment in Trackunit Manager and used for fleet reports and dashboards.
The Spot S300 replaces Trackunit's Spot 2 device and is available to order as of Oct. 1, with first shipments scheduled for November.
