Planera, a developer of visual CPM-based construction scheduling tools, has launched new field scheduling capabilities aimed at improving short-interval planning for construction teams. These features enable project teams to create, manage, and update detailed field schedules that stay connected with their overall master project plans.
Traditionally, field teams have used Post-Its or spreadsheets like Microsoft Excel to handle detailed schedules. This approach often leads to disconnects from the master schedule, manual errors, and delays. Planera’s updated solution addresses these issues by providing:
- Visual, collaborative field scheduling designed specifically for construction workflows
- Quick selection and conversion of master schedule segments into detailed field schedules
- Real-time tracking of progress and variance compared to the master plan
- Seamless synchronization between field and master schedules
- Analytics to monitor field progress against planned milestones
“Field schedules help us break down the project into manageable tasks and communicate clearly with the field without overwhelming them,” said Jimmy Salvidar, senior estimator and project manager at Silverado Contractors. “Planera also offers flexibility to adjust schedules as conditions change, keeping master and field plans aligned.”
Planera’s platform allows internal teams and trade partners to collaborate on scheduling, improving accuracy and communication. Updates made on site can be integrated back into the master schedule, either within Planera or through export to tools like P6, helping keep all stakeholders aligned.
