Motive has introduced AI Dashcam Plus, a new dash camera designed to support fleet safety through expanded edge AI processing, stereo vision and integrated communication features.
The device uses onboard AI to analyze driving conditions in real time without relying on cloud connectivity. It features dual forward-facing lenses that provide depth perception to better assess distance and closing speed, supporting alerts related to collision risk, lane movement and following distance.
AI Dashcam Plus also includes license plate recognition, combining a high-resolution zoom lens with AI processing to capture plate details in motion. The system integrates video, audio, GPS and vehicle sensor data to identify events such as collisions or break-ins.
The dash cam supports hands-free, two-way voice communication between drivers and fleet managers, along with voice-activated commands that allow drivers to save video clips or request information without taking their hands off the wheel.
Motive said the device combines dash cam and vehicle gateway functions into a single unit to reduce installation time and improve reliability. Connectivity features include dual-SIM cellular support and over-the-air software updates.
