Weather-resistant Cover Cloth Shell with responsibly-sourced down insulation.
The Down Cruiser Jacket combines Filson legacy materials with state-of-the-art insulation into a jacket that will weather any storm, no matter how wet and cold. Responsibly-sourced goose down, the lightest and warmest insulation found in nature, traps body heat like nothing else can. Oil finish Cover and Shelter Cloths keep the rain out so the down insulation can do its job. Merino wool lines the neck and handwarmer pockets, for warmth even when wet. Weather be damned this jacket will protect you.
Our Down Cruisers shell is mostly built with Cover Cloth, our lightest-weight oil finish waxed fabricthoroughly saturated with our special wax mixture to ensure maximum water resistance. We deployed Shelter Cloth, our midweight oil-finish fabric, for the pockets, cuffs and lower-back for added durability. Merino wool lines the collar, so your necks feels warm even if snow blows under the brim of your hat. The front pockets are arranged like our iconic Mackinaw Wool Cruisers, a design thats proven itself since 1914. The interior-chest zippered pocket keeps you phone or valuables secure and quick-at-hand. Interior wool-blend, rib-knit cuffs keep warmth in and provide a custom fit. The lining is built with 1.4-oz. ripstop nylon, so lightweight its virtually unnoticeable apart from the comfort it provides.
The goose down that insulates this Cruiser consists of large spherical clusters of the soft under-plumage of gray geese, each cluster with thousands of soft filaments that trap heat. This is why goose down has been the champion of lightweight warmth for centuries. We use only responsibly-sourced goose down, which means that the geese that provide it are treated humanelynever live-plucked or force-fed. All of our goose down is traceable and certified to follow the RDS (Responsible Down Standard), and is processed in bluesign®-approved facilities.
The Down Cruiserour core DNA, filled with natures warmest and lightest, for heavy-duty protection in the coldest, wettest weather.
